Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland, one of the city’s most popular winter events has today announced plans for it’s hugely anticipated New Year’s Eve celebrations – which attractions thousands of visitors each year. Speech and language therapist Sam Lloyd will be out and about on Morriston Hospital’s stroke ward on Christmas morning, helping ensure patients don’t miss out on their opportunity to enjoy a festive dinner. People who suffer strokes often have difficulty swallowing, so the traditional turkey dinner may be off the menu for some. Speech and language therapists assess patients’ swallowing ability and if they need help, can then order up dinners which are softer or even pureed. A world class orchestra brought the magic of Christmas alive for care home residents in Wrexham with a moving Yule Tide concert. The talented trio from the Hallé performed a string of Christmas jingles and carols as part of an enrichment partnership with the Pendine Park care organisation. The musical team was made up of, cellist David Petri, violinist Caroline Abbott, and oboe player and pianist Hugh McKenna. A 21-year-old fashion graduate from Bridgend, who displayed her collection at London Fashion Week, has launched a clothing label aiming to make runway fashion accessible. Laura-Shannon Harding has spent the last few months showing her clothing collection at fashion shows across the country and is now launching her own fashion label, Laura-Shannon. Today might be one of his busiest days of the year, but Santa Claus took some time out of his hectic festive schedule to make a big entrance at Wales’ hospice for children, Tŷ Hafan. South Wales Police has confirmed the identity of the elderly woman who passed away after being involved in a serious road traffic collision on Friday (20 December). Shirley Hope, aged 84, died after the grey Peugeot she was driving was in collision with a red BMW on Rhigos Road at approximately 3pm.
