A University of South Wales (USW) Computer Forensics student has won a national award for her work looking at the security of data in vehicles. Angela Mison, was named the Cyber Student of the Year in Automotive by Techworks, at their annual awards and gala dinner in London. The award recognises the work that Angela did whilst completing her MSc in Computer Forensics at USW. This includes looking at the security of information transmitted from vehicles into the cloud, as well as cloud-based evidence for use in the criminal justice system. Holyhead-based charity, Gwelfor Dementia Friends has received £4,000 to help support people living with dementia thanks to Tesco’s Bags of Help scheme. Dementia Friends is committed to raising awareness and understanding of dementia to local businesses, schools, community groups and public services. The group are using the funding secured from Tesco to create a new Dementia Friendly room and cover the cost of two intergenerational projects in the community. Cardiff based video production company, Rockadove, will be working with Welsh charity Cerebra, who support families across the UK with children with brain conditions to create a video campaign. The charity is the winner of the inaugural Third Sector Prize, which is a partnership between Rockadove and WCVA.  The Carmarthen headquartered charity’s mission is to listen to families, including those children with brain conditions, which inspires their research and innovation. Jean Saunders triumphed in the 2019 RCN Wales Nurse of the Year Awards, winning both the Community Nursing Award and Nurse of the Year.
