Officers in Swansea investigating a serious assault that took place in High Street on Thursday 18th July have charged a man. Colin Thomas Payne, aged 61, from Swansea has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm. He has been remanded in custody and will appear in Swansea Crown Court on Monday 19th August. A 21-year-old man and 50-year-old woman who were both arrested in connection with this incident have been released under investigation. The man who died following an incident in Cardiff city centre early Sunday morning has been named as 21-year-old Asim Khan. Mr Khan, who is from Grangetown was treated by emergency services at the scene and then taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, where he died from his injuries. His family are being supported by family liaison officers. A 27-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody at Cardiff Bay Police Station. THOUSANDS of mud-spattered fundraisers splashed their way through Cancer Research UK’s Pretty Muddy obstacle course in Swansea with one goal in mind – to raise vital funds to help beat cancer.
