The University of South Wales (USW) has agreed the sale of the former campus site in Caerleon to Redrow.  The price has been agreed as £6.2m. An independent valuation says this represents its fair market value. As USW does not use or need the former campus, selling the site is part of USW’s charitable obligations to make the best use of its assets to support teaching and learning in higher education. AN £18 MILLION funding boost will soon be on the way to Swansea Bay City Deal partners to begin funding a number of transformational projects in South West Wales. South Wales Police are investigating a Serious Road Traffic Collision, which occurred at 18.58 hours on Tuesday 16th July 2019 at Heol Swcrfa, Gellideg Estate, Merthyr Tydfil. The incident involved a Silver Audi motor vehicle, which left the carriageway and collided with a number of youths at the location. Air Ambulance attended the scene and two male youths aged 12 and 10 years were conveyed to Hospital. One of these youths has sustained serious injuries and is being treated at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. The Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway has signed a contract with the Zillertalbahn in Austria which will see the Mid Wales line hire newly overhauled U-class 0-6-2T locomotive, No. 2 ‘Zillertal’, for around two years.
