    Vehicle collides with youths in Merthyr Tydfil causing serious injury

    South Wales Police are investigating a Serious Road Traffic Collision, which occurred at 18.58 hours on Tuesday 16th July 2019 at Heol Swcrfa, Gellideg Estate, Merthyr Tydfil.

    The incident involved a Silver Audi motor vehicle, which left the carriageway and collided with a number of youths at the location. Air Ambulance attended the scene and two male youths aged 12 and 10 years were conveyed to Hospital. One of these youths has sustained serious injuries and is being treated at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

    The driver of the Audi motor vehicle is presently assisting Police with the investigation.

    Officers wish to thank members of the public and local community who assisted at scene and for their patience during the road the closure.

    Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or the manner of driving of the vehicle prior to the collision, is requested to contact South Wales Police on 101 and quote Occurrence number 1900259687
