South Wales Police can confirm that a body of a man was found in a wooded area near Bryntirion, Bridgend, on Sunday, January 13, 2019. Mr Cook, 44, was last seen at his home in Bryntirion between 3.30pm and 4.00pm on Friday 11 January. When last seen he was wearing blue jeans, trainers and a dark Superdry hooded top and a flat cap. GMB, the energy union, is calling on the UK government to step in to ensure that Construction of the £16million Wylfa nuclear power plant in North Wales goes ahead. The cancellation by the Board of Japanese company Hitachi is expected on Monday, and the GMB says it will leave the UK’s energy plans “reduced to tatters”. South Wales Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Maerdy, Rhondda, yesterday morning (Sunday 13 January, 2019). Officers were called to the scene on Oxford Street shortly after 8.30am, after a white Ford Transit van collided with a parked Iveco Daily van. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, the 73-year-old driver of the Transit died at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. The latest NatWest Wales PMI® data signalled a further loss of growth momentum in December, with business activity increasing at the slowest rate in the current 29-month sequence of expansion. At the same time, new business growth eased to only a fractional pace that was below the UK average.
