Swansea BID (Business Improvement District) has appointed a new ambassador, who will be a champion for the BID area businesses, giving further support by listening to their concerns and views, in a move designed to help the City Centre flourish.
Kate Williams, who has a background in retail and hospitality, and is an experienced youth worker in Swansea, steps into the role at a pivotal time for the City Centre – with its ongoing regeneration making a positive mark upon the area.
Kate’s focus is to get out and about every week and regularly meet with the 800-plus BID area businesses, getting to know them and being an extra point of contact for BID Businesses.
Projects Manager at Swansea BID, Amelia Rudman, said:
“Kate is already proving to be a valuable asset to the Swansea BID fold. She is an engaging, outgoing and capable young woman with a real understanding of retail and the night time economy, and some of the pressures they face. She is also a champion of Swansea City Centre’s regeneration project and promoting the benefits which it will bring to the City Centre, and I know she is already forging strong bonds with our BID area businesses.
“It is important to us here at Swansea BID to nurture robust relationships with BID businesses, to ensure we are doing all we can to support and help them grow. These are exciting times for Swansea City Centre and for the wider city, and while we know our BID Businesses are on board with the development, and are keen to see our new-look City Centre take shape, we must continue to listen to our members’ concerns, views and news about the regeneration – and about their other priorities – and this is where Kate will be invaluable.”
