The fifth annual ABMU Winter Homeless Appeal has been another resounding success, with organisers inundated with donations. Family-owned and operated farm in South Wales, TJ & MJ Lloyd and Partners, has almost tripled the size of its dairy cow herd and added new facilities to its property following a six-figure funding package from HSBC UK. A “plumber turned electrician” has won a national award for his life-saving work at Morriston Hospital. Dr Mark Anderson was one of the original trio of consultants who set up the hospital’s Cardiac Centre more than two decades ago. A four year old boy from Pembrokeshire who called for an ambulance using Siri when his mum became unwell has been praised for his actions. Brave Beau Austin asked Siri via an iPhone to dial 999 when his mum Jess, who is in the first trimester of her pregnancy, fainted through experiencing side effects of her morning sickness medication. Home-Start in Carmarthenshire, headquartered in Ammanford, provides life-changing support for local families when they face challenging times. Detectives investigating the sudden death of a 17-year-old boy have warned an extremely potent batch of drugs could be circulating in the Rhondda. Officers were called to an address in Treherbert earlier this afternoon where the youth was in cardiac arrest. He later died at the scene. A short time later, officers received a report that a second person from Treorchy had been rushed to hospital, where he currently remains in a serious condition.
