Cardiff and Vale College’s Netball Academy has hit the ground running in its second year, with players being selected to play for Wales, Cardiff and Vale County and to compete in the Welsh Colleges Sport Netball contest. The family of the man who died in a road traffic collision on Colchester Avenue in Cardiff yesterday (Nov 24) say they are ‘heartbroken’. Cyclist Ronald Triggs, aged 71, died after a collision with a VW Transport at about 1.30pm. At 12:45 hours on Saturday November 24th 2018 a serious Road Traffic Collision occurred whereby all four male occupants of a Green Rover 25 motor vehicle have sustained serious life threatening and life changing injuries. The vehicle was in collision with a tree on Gellifowy Road, Ynysmeudwy, Pontardawe. Officers investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on Colchester Avenue, Cardiff, this afternoon, are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Emergency services were called to the incident near Sainsbury’s supermarket at approximately 1.30pm. A  71-year-old cyclist, who was in collision with a VW Transporter, died at the scene. The family of a man found dead in St Mellons earlier this week have paid tribute to him and urged the public to come forward with information. The body of Anthony Winter, 32, from Pentwyn, was found in woodland near Brookfield Drive shortly before 7.15am on Thursday, November 22. Five people – a 16-year-old boy, two men aged 19 and 27, a 17-year-old girl and a 19-year-old woman – have since been arrested on suspicion of his murder, and remain in police custody.
