The North Wales Economic Ambition Board has submitted its Bid for a Growth Deal to both the UK and Welsh Governments. The regional partners are being invited to adopt the Bid – called the Proposition Document – during October in readiness for a first stage agreement between Governments and the region. The region is expectant that UK Government will confirm its commitment to funding a Growth Deal around the Chancellor of Exchequer’s Budget Statement (October 29). Grand Tour Champion Geraint Thomas has been honoured with an Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2018 Litelok Welsh Cycling Awards where Wales’ cycling community celebrated their success over the last twelve months. A new grant fund to encourage and support entrepreneurship in Further and Higher Education has been announced by Economy Secretary Ken Skates. Friends and colleagues of a late clinical scientist have marked what would have been her 40th birthday by paying for a day of care at the hospice that cared for her in her final weeks. A Preparatory School cricketer has achieved a place on an exciting new national development programme after a standout season. A dad who thought he wouldn’t be able to walk his dog following a heart attack has cycled the length of Britain to thank the team who helped him. Gareth Williams became unwell while cycling from Tenby to his home near Swansea in June last year. He was taken to Morriston Hospital where he was fitted with a stent that same night after a heart attack was confirmed.
