A father-of-two whose drug addiction ruined his life and left him on the brink of suicide has received a special award from a policing czar. After three decades of drug use, 47-year-old John Redican has now turned his life around having been clean for almost two years and is now playing his part in helping others to steer clear of addiction. Three hard-hitting advertisements show an individual’s choice to donate their organs being over-ridden by family members, because they didn’t talk to them about their decision or registration on the organ donor register to become a donor. In research carried out by FXTM in May this year, they have revealed that Cardiff has 30 fast food franchises for every 100,000 people. This means the Welsh capital has approximately 21.11 more fast food restaurants per 100k people than the UK capital London, which only has 9.39. From today (Monday September 3rd) Barry Hospital will issue new parking regulations, which will aim to benefit both patients and visitors. Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is revising the current parking system to bring it in line with the health board’s new parking enforcement contract which is in place at the University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough. The revised system will provide automatic free parking for up to four hours with no need to enter a vehicle registration number upfront, unless patients and visitors plan to stay beyond four hours.
