The Celtic Freeport welcomed MorGen Energy’s decision to approve the final investment decision (FID) for a green hydrogen production facility in the Milford Haven Tax Site. The West Wales Hydrogen project is among the first supported by the UK Government’s flagship Hydrogen Allocation Round (HAR1) to reach this milestone. With construction expected to begin in 2026 and commissioning planned for early 2028, the plant will produce around 2,000 tonnes of low carbon hydrogen each year in line with the UK’s Low Carbon Hydrogen Standard. Officers in St Mellons have been given extra powers to prevent gatherings and anti-social behaviour following an incident in the shopping district. Police were called to the Tesco car park at around 5.30pm yesterday (Tuesday, March 10) to a report of criminal damage and stones being thrown at cars. A group of Welsh business leaders and supporters of The King’s Trust successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro on St David’s Day, raising more than £125,000 for The King’s Trust in Wales as part of the charity’s 50th anniversary year. The team was led by Richard Selby MBE DL, Chair of The King’s Trust Wales Development Committee and Sarah Jones, Director of The King’s Trust in Wales. Cardiff-based Mariposa Therapeutics has secured £750,000 in seed funding to advance the development of a potential first-in-class treatment for Epidermolysis Bullosa Simplex (EBS), a rare and painful genetic skin condition. The investment was led by the Development Bank of Wales, which has committed up to £300,000 in equity from the Wales Technology Seed Fund. Co-investments have come from specialist rare disease charity DEBRA Research gGmbH and the existing founders. A 21 year old man has been arrested after a stolen car taken from Cardiff was stopped by police in Newport less than 24 hours later. Gwent Police Roads Policing officers spotted the stolen Renault while on patrol in Newport and began following the vehicle before bringing it to a safe stop.
