Failure to remove excess waste from a garden in Pembroke Dock resulted in a Court fine for a Council tenant. A Community Protection Warning Notice was issued to Sheena Deacon to remove accumulated waste at her home at Wavell Crescent but it was not cleaned up. The accumulation of waste in the property’s garden was causing rodent infestation and presented a health hazard. Engagement with the tenant, and investigations by the Council’s Public Health and Public Protection division were carried out prior to the issuing of the notice. Over the next two years, £8.8m will be provided to increase school engagement and attendance including £1.5m to provide greater capacity for Family Engagement Officers (FEOs) to support learners with attendance. The Welsh Government has today announced £157m of new funding to support the First Minister’s priorities this year. The additional funding includes £21m for diagnostic equipment for the NHS to help cut waiting times, which comes on top of a £50m package announced last month to cut the longest waits. £20m will be provided for school and college repairs and maintenance through the Welsh Government’s school and college building programme, Sustainable Communities for Learning, which is in addition to £30m already provided this year. Since opening its doors in June, Cardiff Bus Interchange is now welcoming up to 9,000 passengers a day. Following the addition of a further fourteen services in September bus numbers using the interchange have increased from 1,830 to 3,476 a week, bringing with it between 8,000 and 9,000 passengers a day.
