Loungers, the West Country–based café‑bar group, will open the doors to Morio Lounge at Nell’s Point, Barry on Saturday 11th July 2026, creating around 30 new jobs for the local community.
The former toilet block has been completely transformed by the Loungers design team with richly patterned wallpapers, murals, colourful tiling, stripped wooden floors, oversized vintage sofas and upholstered lounge chairs, all brought together with an eclectic mix of artwork.  Statement wall and pendant lighting create a series of cosy corners and elegant dining areas for guests to relax in throughout the day.
Designed as a true home‑from‑home, Morio Lounge – meaning sea – will welcome guests from morning through to late evening with its varied and innovative all‑day menu. Whether it’s a catch‑up over coffee, a long, lazy brunch or a relaxed dinner and drinks, Morio Lounge offers a warm, laid‑back space for every occasion.
Matt Birch, General Manager of Morio Lounge said: “Opening day is now just around the corner, and we’re so excited to finally welcome the community into Morio Lounge. The support and enthusiasm we’ve already felt from local people has been incredible, and we can’t wait to open our doors and become a place where everyone can come together and enjoy great food, drinks and a brilliant atmosphere.”
The all‑day menu spans everything from brunch, tapas, toasties and salads to burgers, tacos, noodles and fried chicken.  Dedicated vegan and gluten‑free menus ensure guests with dietary requirements have plenty of choice.
Morio Lounge will also run a series of weekly offers, including:
    • Tapas Tuesday – from 5pm: enjoy three tapas dishes plus a glass of house wine, pint of Cruzcampo or soft drink for £14.50.
    • Cheeky Mondays – order any burger, main or salad and receive a complimentary house wine, Cruzcampo, soft drink or pudding.
    • Cocktail Club – every day from 5pm until close.
Families will feel right at home, with games, books, colouring pencils and pads available to keep younger visitors entertained.  Highchairs, baby‑changing facilities and a full children’s menu ensure Little Loungers are well looked after.
