One in three stroke survivors (33%) say that talking to other stroke survivors was the single most important part of their recovery, but in fact only a quarter (25%) did so, according to new research released today by the Stroke Association. To mark World Stroke Day (Tuesday 29 October), the charity, which connects survivors with each other to improve recovery from stroke, surveyed over 1,000 UK stroke survivors. A stalker who damaged the home of one ex-partner and threatened to post intimate pictures of another ex-partner has been jailed. Gruffydd Llyr Williams, of Ffordd Efailnewydd, Efailnewydd, appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court on Friday, October 25th after admitting to stalking and threatening to disclose private sexual photos without consent. The first woman ended her relationship with Williams in January 2022. However, he began calling her daily using a withheld phone number and submitted a false complaint against her at her work. A development in Llantwit Major containing 90 units of temporary accommodation for the homeless is about to welcome its first tenants. Built on the site of the former Eagleswell Primary School, the project has been signed off by the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Planning and Building Control Teams so is ready for use. The transformation of a boarded-up former electrical shop near one of Swansea’s best-loved parks is turning heads. The store, close to the entrance to Brynmill Park, has been turned into a café that’s become a welcoming gathering place for local people. Pembrokeshire County Council’s Cabinet has agreed an additional £1.4m of capital funding, alongside grant funding, to support a Milford Haven Public Transport Interchange.
