Students from Nicola Peros Ballet Academy, who come from all over the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff, will represent Team Wales at the prestigious tournament in Italy this summer.

They will be performing in both solo and group dances at the event, for which thousands of children from 62 countries have auditioned. The event is described as “the greatest all-genre dance competition in the world for children and young adults”.

The team is now urgently looking for sponsors to help support them with the cost of the Team Wales kit and costumes.

Nicola’s academy, which holds classes in Canton and Barry, was chosen after auditioning and they will head to Rome at the end of June.

Nicola said: “It is a huge honour to be representing Wales. The dancers have worked very hard to get chosen and there is a lot more to do before June.

“We also have to work equally hard to raise money as there is no funding for the dancers. If any local businesses can support the team we would be very grateful.

“I’m sure they would be honoured to have their names on the Team Wales kit.”

The team is already doing a huge amount of its own fundraising. It held a bag-pack at Morrisons in Barry which raised £468 with the kind support of the superstore’s customers.

If your business would like to sponsor Nicola’s Team Wales please contact Nicola Peros on 07850 741136 or via the email address [email protected]
