Better leisure centres in Cardiff will be holding an open weekend on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 November.

In keeping with this month’s ‘Social Enterprise Day’, the Open Weekend will run with the theme of ‘Thriving on Purpose’ – the aim being to celebrate the positive impact of inclusive, purpose-driven activities for people of all ages and abilities.

A range of free activities and taster sessions is being offered – including basketball, swimming, badminton, pickleball, junior multi sports, dance, gymnastics, yoga and fitness classes.

Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the charitable social enterprise that runs Eastern, Fairwater, Llanishen, Maindy, Pentwyn, Star Hub and Wester leisure centres on behalf of the council.

“Our Winter Open Weekend is a fantastic opportunity to visit your local leisure centre and find out what it offers,” said Matt Simmons, GLL Transformation Manager for Wales.

“Exercise is key to good health and a fun way of getting to know new people, making new friends and trying something different.”

Each centre has its own open weekend programme, and activities should be booked in advance on https://bookings.better.org.uk/register.
