BikeShredz Ltd, a small independent bike store renowned for its bespoke bike builds and expert repairs, is thrilled to announce its relocation to a larger unit in Caerphilly, enabling significant business growth and the introduction of new services.

The expansion has been made possible through funding support from the UK Government and Caerphilly County Borough Council.

The business received 2 match funded grants, totalling £28,148.37, from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. This grant was dedicated towards BikeShredz Ltd through Caerphilly County Borough Council’s intervention of UKSPF funds. Funding support helped with the rental bike purchase as well as security within store, advertising, IT and new equipment.

BikeShredz Ltd has been a cornerstone of the local cycling community, providing not only high-quality bikes and accessories but also essential tools to local trail builders. Their commitment to enhancing the cycling experience extends to active involvement in local cycling clubs and offering expert guidance on trails and safety to both tourists and residents.

The new premises, strategically located to serve the growing cycling community, will allow BikeShredz to diversify its offerings by introducing a bike rental service. This initiative aims to cater to local residents and visitors seeking to explore the breathtaking trails around the Caerphilly area. With an investment in a new line of rental bikes, BikeShredz is poised to enhance accessibility to cycling in the region, fostering a love for outdoor adventure.

With the added space, BikeShredz aims to invest in cutting-edge equipment, ensuring they remain at the forefront of the cycling industry. This investment will enhance operational efficiency, allowing the business to deliver exceptional service while expanding their product range.

As BikeShredz Ltd embarks on this exciting new chapter, they remain committed to supporting the cycling community, fostering a love for biking, and promoting sustainable transport options in Caerphilly.

Owner, Nicholas Ball said “The move to a larger unit is a significant milestone for BikeShredz Ltd. The support we’ve received from the UK Government and CCBC has been instrumental in making this expansion a reality. As a local bike shop, space is incredibly important as is our location, pairing the two is often a huge challenge. With the help from CCBC’s Business Team it has enabled us to secure a location that not only works for us but offers a much easier solution for our customers.”

Cllr Jamie Pritchard, Cabinet Member for Prosperity, Regeneration, and Climate Change visited the new premises and commented “It was good to catch up with Nick to discuss how his new move has led to a successful first few weeks. We wish BikeShredz every success for the future”.
