Caerphilly Play is inviting primary schools across the county borough to take part in an exciting creative competition to design a brand-new mascot that will represent the service and the importance of play.
The competition challenges pupils to create a fun, vibrant and memorable character that reflects the values of Caerphilly Play. The winning design will be professionally brought to life and become the official Caerphilly Play mascot, appearing across promotional materials, social media and at events.
As part of the competition, schools are being asked to design a mascot that is colourful and playful, reflects fun, creativity and inclusivity, and highlights the importance of play for all children. The character should convey energy, happiness and community spirit, be easy to recognise and memorable, and be suitable for use across a range of platforms including posters, social media and events.
The winning school will receive £500 worth of play equipment, which will be presented during a school assembly by the new Caerphilly Play mascot, providing a memorable experience for pupils as well as a lasting benefit for the school.
To take part, schools should email [email protected] to confirm their intention to enter. The Caerphilly Play team will arrange collection of all designs on Thursday 6th February by 12pm. All entries will be judged by a panel, with the winning design announced on 25th February.
Caerphilly Play said it hopes the competition will inspire creativity, celebrate the value of play, and give pupils a unique opportunity to help shape the future identity of the service.
