Denbighshire Leisure is lighting its attractions this week in green and purple in support of Carers’ Rights Day.

The pandemic has impacted the lives and need of carers significantly with increasing demand. This year’s Carers’ Rights Day campaign is focusing on raising awareness of the rights that unpaid carers have and aims to empower them with information and support that will encourage them to challenge when their rights are not being met.

Ruthin Craft Centre, Rhyl Sky Tower, Rhyl Pavilion Theatre, 1891 Restaurant and Bar, the Events Arena waterfall, Denbighshire Leisure Ltd HQ in Denbigh and Denbighshire coastal bus shelters will all be lit up in green and purple on Thursday, 25th November in solidarity with carers across the country who’s rights are not being met.

Jamie Groves, Managing Director of Denbighshire Leisure Ltd said “At Denbighshire Leisure Ltd we are proud to show our appreciation for carers all over the country by lighting up our attractions on Carers’ Rights Day. The hard work carried out by carers, particularly during the past year doesn’t go unnoticed and we are very grateful to all carers, and that’s why we want to support this campaign to empower carers and help raise awareness of Carers’ Rights.”

Councillor Bobby Feeley, Lead Member for Well-being and Independence at Denbighshire County Council, said: “We are proud to stand with our carers across the county and beyond. Carers play a vital role in the county and I’m pleased that we are showing our support to them by lighting up Denbighshire Leisure attractions.”
