DEPOT has chosen City Hospice, Cardiff’s local hospice, as its charity of the year for 2023.

Depot is an original and exciting venue in the city which has played host to festivals, screenings, themed experiences and corporate events.

Since opening in 2015, the venue has become the home of street food in Cardiff, created innovative new events such as Bingo Lingo and organised events across the capital such as Depot in the Castle and Depot in the Park.

The popular organisation has now selected City Hospice as its charity of the year for 2023 and will support the charity by fundraising through a number of events.

The funds raised by Depot during the year will help City Hospice continue to provide specialist at-home palliative care to patients with terminal or life limiting illnesses in Cardiff. The charity also provides specialist bereavement counselling and services for families.

Nick Saunders, Managing Director of Depot, said: “As a member of Rhiwbina Rugby Club, I had previously supported City Hospice during the 100kForHobbsy challenge and was really impressed by the incredible work they do in the community.

“From care to counselling and so much more, City Hospice provides vital services to the people of Cardiff and we are looking forward to raising funds for the charity through many awesome events over the next year.”

Daisy Magill, Senior Fundraising Coordinator at City Hospice, said: “We are so excited to be Depot’s charity of the year in 2023. We’d like to thank their team for their continued support of the charity and for helping us raise awareness of the vital services City Hospice provides. We are looking forward to working with Depot on some fantastic fundraising events in 2023!”
