Cardiff Bay has welcomed a new festive attraction as The Red Dragon Centre unveils its Yellow Brick Road of Dreams, an installation designed to bring seasonal cheer while raising funds for Dreams & Wishes Charity.
The walkway celebrates children whose dreams have been granted by the charity, with each receiving their own dedicated brick. The bright trail leads visitors to a rainbow arch that has already become a popular photo spot, and the Centre is encouraging people to donate to help the charity continue its work with seriously ill children and their families.
The new addition arrives just ahead of the release of Wicked: For Good at the Centre’s ODEON cinema, which houses the only IMAX screen in South Wales. To mark the film’s opening weekend, a green and pink spell caster will visit the Centre on Saturday 22 November, adding extra festive fun for families. Visitors can also try out the Centre’s giant Santa display, where they can cast a good spell to make it snow on the figure, offering more playful moments and photo opportunities
Tony Curtis MBE, founder of Dreams & Wishes, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to see the Yellow Brick Road of Dreams bringing so much joy to visitors while helping to make our children’s dreams a reality. As a 100% volunteer-based charity, the support from The Red Dragon Centre means the world to us and allows us to continue creating unforgettable moments for families when they need it most.”
The Centre has also launched its Toys for Dreams appeal. Shoppers are invited to donate new and unwrapped toys by Saturday 13 December, which Santa will collect before delivering them to children spending Christmas in hospital
Emma Constantinou, spokesperson for The Red Dragon Centre, said:
“This season, we wanted to create something that spreads joy and kindness, celebrates the incredible work of Dreams & Wishes Charity, and complements the cinematic experiences our visitors love. There really is no place like The Red Dragon Centre this festive season!”
