First homes snapped up at new Swansea development

Local housebuilder, Barratt Developments South Wales, has this week reported that the first available properties at its sought-after Penllergaer development, Pentref Llewelyn, have already been sold — with only a handful of first-release homes remaining.

It comes after the recent sell-out of Barratt’s nearby Chapel Fields development in Loughor —  with the new Penllergaer development proving to be just as popular.

And although additional properties are regularly being made available at Pentref Llewelyn, prospective buyers are encouraged to move quickly to ensure they don’t miss out on their dream home.

Pentref Llewelyn was named in honour of the ground-breaking astrophotography father-daughter duo, John and Thereza Dillwyn Llewelyn, who hailed from Penllergaer — with Thereza believed to have taken the first-known photograph of the moon.

Pentref Llewelyn will offer a range of 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom homes along with plenty of green open spaces and a children’s park.

The development has also been designed with energy efficiency and sustainability in mind —with Barratt’s new-build houses designed to be up to 63% more energy-efficient than Victorian properties — with modern-day improvements potentially saving new buyers up to £3,100* per year on bills.

What’s more, renovating a typical 3-bedroom house could cost buyers anywhere between £76,900 to £138,800** vs. a new build which is ready to be enjoyed from the moment of completion.

Richard Lawson, Sales Director at Barratt Developments South Wales, said: “Having sold out our Chapel Fields development in nearby Loughor, we’re pleased to be meeting the continued demand for properties in the area with Pentref Llewelyn.

“The new homes are just a short drive from the Gower peninsula and in close proximity to a selection of scenic walks and beautiful coastal views — all whilst maintaining excellent links via the M4 to Swansea and Cardiff.

“Having recently been awarded the maximum five-star rating in the Home Builders Federation’s New Homes Customer Satisfaction Survey for a 14th consecutive year, we look forward to showcasing our commitment to producing quality homes to even more South Wales customers.”
