Flight Club Cardiff has just launched a brand-new food menu, and we couldn’t resist heading down to give it a try.
Known for keeping guests entertained with darts and good times, Flight Club has now raised its game when it comes to food too. The result? A menu that’s as exciting as the venue itself.

Showstopping sharers
The bar snacks are the perfect place to start. Chorizo bites glazed with hot honey and giant prawn crackers with sweet chilli dip are ideal for picking at while sipping a drink. From there, the small plates bring plenty of flavour. Think spiced corn ribs with coriander and spicy mayo, halloumi sticks drizzled with caramelised hot honey, and grilled chimichurri beef sliders.

Our standouts? The chicken and chorizo skewers (£9) with chimichurri sauce were packed with flavour, and the chorizo stayed juicy rather than dry.

The crisp popcorn chicken (£9) also made us smile, served with sweet chilli sauce and, quite literally, pieces of popcorn scattered in – a fun twist on the classic.

As readers will know, we love our halloumi, and these halloumi sticks (£7) didn’t disappoint. Creamy in the middle with caramelised hot honey drizzled over the top, they were the kind you just can’t stop picking at.

For something more filling, the halloumi and mushroom burger (£14) is a winner. Served with spicy mayo, tomato, red onion and rocket (plus fries on the side), it’s bold and satisfying, with the mushroom taking centre stage and the mayo adding a welcome kick.

And yes, the famous paddle pizzas are still here, but with fresh updates. The ‘nduja heatwave (£18) delivers exactly what the name suggests: spicy tomato sauce, roquito peppers and hot honey drizzle. The giant size makes it perfect for sharing, and the mix of fiery spice and sweet honey hits the spot.
Keep an eye out too for the Yellow Ball Foundation items across the menu. Order one and you’ll be helping raise money for charity.
Tear ‘n’ share platters
If you’re the type who loves grazing, you’ll be spoilt for choice. The baked camembert with a garlic butter sourdough wreath is made for sharing (or not, if you’re feeling greedy). There’s also a new charcuterie board and a hummus with crudités platter, with plenty of dips, meats and nibbles to work through.
Margs & Margs
One of the most fun new additions is the Margs & Margs deal. For £25, you get a shareable Margherita pizza paddle alongside two Passion Fruit Picante margarita cocktails. It’s a simple but brilliant combo that’s guaranteed to fuel a night out.

Final thoughts
I’ve always enjoyed Flight Club’s food alongside a game of social darts, but this new menu feels like a step up. The quality and variety now make it a destination in its own right. In the past, I probably wouldn’t have visited without a game booked, but now it’s tempting to come along just for the food. Pair it with a pint of Brixton (my personal go-to) or choose from their huge drinks list. The gin menu alone covers a page and a half.
At a time when many places think sticking a dartboard in the corner is enough, Flight Club continues to prove why it’s number one for darts and food.

A big birthday
Flight Club is also celebrating its 10th birthday this October, with a UK-wide fire engine tour. Cardiff’s turn is on 7 October, when the fire engine will roll into St Mary Street to hand out goodies during the day, before a special evening charity darts tournament at the venue. Proceeds will support 21 local and national charities, including Cardiff-based Llamau, which helps young people and vulnerable women facing homelessness.
With a new food menu worth making a trip for and a big birthday celebration on the way, Flight Club Cardiff has plenty to shout about.
