Cwrt Rawlin Primary School in Caerphilly and Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Allta, Ystrad Mynach are both celebrating positive Estyn inspection reports.

Estyn is responsible for inspecting education and training providers and advising Welsh Government about the quality and standards of education in Wales.

Both Caerphilly borough schools were inspected earlier this year to positive feedback from inspectors.

Cwrt Rawlin was praised for its highly inclusive ethos and its strong team of dedicated, skilled teachers and teaching assistants.

Tara Lloyd, Headteacher at Cwrt Rawlin, said “We are delighted that ESTYN have recognised the very good practice in the school and the hard work and collaboration of the whole school community.”

Inspectors who visited Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Allta noted pupils felt happy and safe, within a highly inclusive, homely, and caring environment.  The working relationship between staff and pupils was also recognised as a strength across the school.

Meinir Elenid Jones, Headteacher at Bro Allta, said “We are extremely proud that ESTYN has recognised the exceptional standard at the school and the progress the pupils are making.  Together we have created an excellent learning environment which enables our pupils to thrive academically and socially.  I am so proud of our whole school community.”

Keri Cole, Chief Education Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council, added “We are delighted with the feedback from Estyn.  The positive reports are testament to the efforts of staff, pupils and governors at both schools.”
