A much-loved name in Welsh street food is set to take centre stage this weekend, as Hang Fire BBQ returns to Forest Feastival for a special woodland takeover.
The award-winning duo, widely credited with helping to spark the street food movement in Wales more than a decade ago alongside Street Food Circus, will be back cooking in the forest and serving up the original dishes that made them a household name.
Their return is being billed as a full circle moment for the scene they helped build, with festivalgoers able to experience the bold, slow-cooked barbecue flavours that first put them on the map.
Forest Feastival itself has already seen huge demand this summer, with its opening weekends selling out as visitors flocked to the woodland setting for a mix of food, fire pits and live entertainment. But organisers say this weekend’s line-up, led by Hang Fire BBQ, is set to be one of the highlights of the entire run.
Set beneath canvas and the festival’s signature tipis, the event blends top-tier street food with a laid-back, communal atmosphere. By day, families can enjoy a packed programme of activities, while evenings shift towards a more grown-up crowd with cabaret and after-dark entertainment.
With just two weekends left, the return of Hang Fire BBQ offers both long-time fans and newcomers a chance to experience a key part of Wales’ street food story in a unique setting.
