The world has gone digital over the past few decades. Long gone are the days when, to complete university, you needed to handwrite essays. Nowadays, in education, almost everything is handled online, which makes sense because of the efficiency.

At the same time, there are instances when reverting to physical ways of learning are actually useful. That includes using printed-out notes and essays. In this article, learn why printing out your notes and work for university can actually improve your experience in several ways.

    Printed Work Can Impress

If you are completing a big essay or even your final year’s dissertation, printing it is a great idea. Your professors will likely enjoy having a physical copy to read through, even if it’s not fully expected. At the same time, having a physical copy feels great for you, and you can show it to your friends and family. Using printing services for this reason means you get a high-quality, tangible copy that can stay with you for the long term.

    Better Revision

Did you know that working with physical notes can even lead to improved revision sessions? It’s true! You will be engaging more actively with the material in front of you, as you will be able to physically highlight and make notes. It’s a way of comprehending the work in a new way, which means you’ll have a better chance of memorizing it all.

It Works Well for Group Study

While there are software applications available for collaboration efforts, printed notes can still be very helpful when working in a group. You don’t have to worry about getting everyone onto the same application – instead, you can use notes while meeting up to expand on each other’s thoughts and provide feedback. Then, they can be referred to in the future.

    Reduced Eye Strain

Do you feel that familiar strain after looking at your computer screen for too long? It’s enough to make you want to avoid screens for the rest of the day. This eye fatigue can negatively impact both your health and your studies, and printing your notes and work is a great solution, as you can continue revising away from screens.

    No Distractions

Working on a laptop, tablet, or even phone comes with a big downside: the possibility of distraction. That is not the case with printed notes. You can even sit in a room without a phone, laptop, or tablet, so you don’t even receive any notifications.

    Something to Look Back On

There may come a time in your future when you want to reminisce about your time at university. Or, you may even want to look back on notes you made about a particular topic, perhaps to see how far you’ve come, or even to learn from your past self. Having physical notes kept safely means you will have an easier time accessing them.

    In Summary

While you might not want to print out all of your university notes, there are situations where it makes sense. If you want distraction-free study with no eye strain, for example. Plus, printing and binding certain pieces of university work is good for making a positive impression and having something to hold that you feel proud of.
