Visitors heading to Eisteddfod y Garreg Las are being encouraged to plan their journeys in advance, with a range of travel options available for those attending the week long celebration.
The National Eisteddfod site at Llantwd is located a few miles south of Cardigan, with organisers expecting visitors from local communities, across Wales and beyond.
Travelling by car
Motorists are advised to follow the yellow “Eisteddfod” signs to reach the Maes.
Drivers travelling from Fishguard should follow the A487 through Newport to the site, while those travelling from Cardigan should head south on the A487.
Visitors coming from Narberth or Carmarthen should take the A478 from Penblewyn roundabout, continue to the B4332 junction at Postgwyn, turn left and travel west for around two miles before following the Eisteddfod signs.
Those travelling from the Crymych and Boncath area should make their way to the Postgwyn junction before travelling west.
Free parking will be available on site, with visitors urged to use the designated car parks and not park on roadside verges, where parking restrictions are in place.
Extra bus services
Additional public transport has been arranged throughout the Eisteddfod to encourage people to leave the car at home.
The TrawsCymru T5 service will run directly to the Maes from Haverfordwest via Fishguard, Newport and Cardigan, with extra services and later evening buses operating between Fishguard and Cardigan during the event.
The 430 bus service will also link Narberth and Cardigan via Crymych. During Eisteddfod week, the service will operate every day, with all journeys running through to Narberth and an additional late evening departure from the Maes at 11.15pm.
Travel is free for passengers with an All Wales Concessionary Bus Pass, while young people aged 21 and under can travel for £1 per journey, up to a maximum of £3 per day, subject to MyTravelPass requirements for those aged 16 to 21.
Visitors can also use Bws yr Arglwydd Rhys, a free hourly shuttle bus operating between Finch Square in Cardigan and the Maes from 7am until midnight.
Rail connections
People travelling by train can use Transport for Wales services to Carmarthen station, where regular free shuttle buses will connect passengers directly with the Eisteddfod site.
Traveline Cymru can also be used to plan journeys by public transport.
Coach trips available
Several coach operators are offering organised day trips to the Eisteddfod.
Jones Login is running services on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Carmarthen, with pick ups including St Clears, Whitland, Penblewyn, Narberth and locations along the A478.
Windy Corner Coaches is operating trips on Monday and Friday, along with a special Saturday trip for the Super Furry Animals concert.
Midway Motors will provide daily services throughout the Eisteddfod from Tegryn, Llanfyrnach, Hermon, Crymych, Blaenffos, Boncath and Eglwyswrw. Adult fares are £5, with children’s tickets priced at £1.
Taxi services
Visitors wishing to travel by taxi will have a number of local firms available, including Kyle’s Taxis, H J Taxis Ltd, Tony’s Taxis, Fishguard Taxis, Morgans Private Hire, Letterston Taxi Service, Frank’s Cabs and St David’s Taxis, A2B Minibuses and Taxis, H&S Cab Service, Robins Taxis and Home James.
