Expert developer and regeneration specialist, St. Modwen, has submitted next-phase planning applications to build 277 St. Modwen homes across its developments at Glan Llyn in Newport and Coed Darcy in Neath.

The 277 new homes will comprise 203 homes at Glan Llyn and 74 at Coed Darcy. Subject to planning consent being granted, work is expected to start on both sites later in 2019, with a view to completing the Coed Darcy homes by late 2021, and Glan Llyn by 2023. These will include a range of different house designs, boasting a mix of two, three and four bedroom houses at both sites. When completed, these homes can be bought as residential properties as well as holiday homes, providing that owners obtain the appropriate holiday let mortgages.

Steven Ingham, Technical Manager for St. Modwen Homes said:

“We are very excited at the prospect of bringing 277 new St. Modwen homes to South Wales. Having already built and completed a total of 225 homes at Glan Llyn, we are contributing towards much-needed housing in South Wales, in line with our commitment to providing high quality homes that really stand out from the competition.”

St. Modwen Homes is fast-becoming an established brand in South Wales. Having experienced substantial success in the industry, multi-award winning St. Modwen Homes prides itself in providing house buyers with high quality, contemporary homes whilst offering something different from the norm. If approved, the homes will incorporate St. Modwen Homes’ unique designs and signature features, including full height windows, and a variety of render finishes and colours.

Glan Llyn is being developed using a phased approach to deliver up to 4,000 new homes. The 600-acre site will also provide a new local centre offering leisure and retail space, together with the site providing new education facilities and an abundance of extensive open parkland.
