Dozens of employers and organisations will descend on Bridgend town centre next month for Bridgend’s first outdoor Jobs Fair.

The free event, which will be in various locations around Bridgend town centre, including Dunraven Place and Caroline Street, is being held between 10am-2pm on Thursday September 16.

It has been organised by Employability Bridgend as part of Bridgend County Borough’s partnership with Jobcentre Plus. Both organisations will offer advice and support on a range of work, training and volunteering opportunities.

Some of the employers taking part will include South Wales Police, Avon Cosmetics, First Cymru Buses, G4S, Careers Wales and A & R Cleaning Services as well as MPS Industrial, Rubicon Wales Facilities Management, Harlequin Home Care Ltd and Wilmott Dixon. A range of temporary and permanent vacancies will be available to apply for on the day.

Staff from Bridgend County Borough Council will be on hand to provide details about current vacancies within the local authority, advice on training and support opportunities for school and college graduates, and more.

Over the years, the event has attracted large numbers of visitors and employers have been able to source suitable candidates for their jobs.

The annual jobs fair always proves to be very popular with job-seekers and employers across Bridgend County Borough.

I am delighted that the local authority and Jobcentre Plus are working together once again to organise this year’s event.

The fair is an excellent opportunity to gain important information and support on volunteering and training opportunities and has earned a reputation as an event where people can access all the help they need to succeed.

    Council leader Huw David

Businesses can still book a stand at the event. For more information or to book a stand, contact Jobcentre Plus on 07557 498871 or 07909 342246.
