Drivers are being urged to avoid part of the A470 following a collision this morning.

South Wales Police are currently at the scene on the southbound carriageway at the Coryton Interchange, where lanes one and two have been blocked.

Motorists are being advised to plan ahead and use alternative routes where possible, as disruption is expected in the area.

In a statement, South Wales Police said: “We’re at the scene of a collision on the A470, southbound at the Coryton Interchange.

“Lanes one and two are currently blocked.

“Please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Thank you for your patience.”

There is currently no confirmation on whether anyone has been injured.

Drivers travelling through the area are advised to allow extra time for their journeys while emergency services remain at the scene.
