The very first Parc Margam 10k run raising money for the Mayor of Neath Port Talbot’s Charity Fund is to get under way in the beautiful surroundings of Port Talbot’s Margam Country Park on Sunday, March 13th.

Entrants can choose between 10k and 5k routes and as well as enjoying the run through the historic park, they will help raise funds and awareness for the two very worthy causes chosen by Neath Port Talbot Mayor Cllr John Warman’s Charity Fund this year  – the Neath Port Talbot Cancer Challenge and British Heart Foundation Cymru.

The brand new event is being supported by John Pye Auctions, Auction City, Kenfig Industrial Estate, Margam – Europe’s largest indoor general auction facility.

The Mayor of Neath Port Talbot, Cllr John Warman, said: “Whether you want to push yourself, come in fancy dress or just have a gentle run with some friends, the Parc Margam 10k is a great way to blow away the winter cobwebs and get yourself ready for Spring in these breath-taking surroundings.

“Also you will be helping to publicise and raise money for my two Mayor’s Charities, the British Heart Foundation Cymru and Neath Port Talbot Cancer Challenge (NPTCC).”

Run by volunteers, NPTCC is a local charity that helps local people. Its aim is to help with the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of all types of cancer. The charity raise funds to purchase equipment for local hospitals in Neath Port Talbot, Singleton, Morriston and Bridgend.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) Cymru helps to fund life saving research into heart and circulatory diseases to find better ways of treating, diagnosing and ultimately curing them.

Register now (there is a £20 registration fee) and be part of this exciting inaugural mixed terrain event using this link: https://www.margamcountrypark.co.uk/10k
