St David’s Cardiff is dedicating its largest shopping arcade to Gavin & Stacey fans as the cult show gets set to air its final ever episode.

In honour of the show’s legendary character Nessa – Vanessa Shanessa Jenkins – the shopping centre is renaming its iconic Grand Arcade mall, and opening its own version of her Barry Island amusement arcade ‘Nessa’s Slots’.

‘Nessa’s Grand Arcade’ will be officially unveiled with a commemorative plaque on Saturday 21st December, just days before the screening of Gavin & Stacey’s last-ever episode on Christmas Day.

For one day only, St David’s will welcome Nessa’s famous seaside amusement arcade, complete with free play-to-win claw machines and a very special guest – TV impersonator ‘Knock off Nessa’ will be on site greeting fans with plenty of laughs.

More than 2,000 prizes are being given away from the prize-every-time grabbers, each uniquely inspired by Gavin & Stacey.  Guests can expect to win everything from classic Nessa Christmas gifts such as single taps and individual Celebrations chocolates, to Gwen’s omelette maker and Welsh fishing trip books.

Prizes also include chocolate truffles with a hint of Uncle Bryn’s favourite festive tipple – Mint Baileys – as well as Nessa-style temporary tattoos, Christmas puddings, Gavin & Stacey quiz books, vegetarian cookbooks and Doris’ lavender talc.

Guests can visit Nessa’s Grand Arcade on the upper level near Apple, from 9.30am-6pm on Saturday 21st December – with free prizes available as long as stocks last.

Helen Morgan, Centre Director of St David’s Cardiff, commented: “Gavin & Stacey is an absolutely iconic show, especially here in Wales, and we couldn’t let the last-ever episode pass by without a fanfare. We hope fans will love Nessa’s Grand Arcade with its brilliant prizes and have a lush time with us commemorating the show’s finale.”
