First Bus has announced the appointment of Jane Reakes-Davies as the Managing Director for First Cymru.

Jane joined First Bus in 2013 years and was most recently Head of Human Resources for the business in South of England, Wales and Ireland before fulfilling the Managing Director’s role on an interim basis. Jane continued her leadership on a permanent basis from August 1st, 2020.

First Bus Divisional Director Dave Alexander said:

“Jane’s passion, focused determination and leadership style have already proved effective in stimulating the energies of the Cymru team and I am confident that together they will continue to meet the challenges faced as they remobilise our business in Wales in the months ahead.”

Commenting on her appointment, Jane said:

“I’m very pleased to be accepting this appointment, with the aim to lead First Cymru into the future, with my team by my side, delivering for our customers, stakeholders and the communities we work within. The past few months have been incredibly challenging for the bus industry, however I have been impressed by the resilience of the whole First Cymru team and their desire to continue to support our customers and our communities”

Jane has a background in Human Resource Management and Leadership. During her tenure at First Bus Jane has been instrumental in driving divisional projects. Prior to joining FirstGroup Jane worked with public sector and charity organisations in Wales. She has a Post Graduate Diploma in HRM from the University of South Wales.
