Residents in Cardiff are being reminded of changes to recycling centre opening hours coming into effect this week.

Cardiff Council has confirmed that from Monday, May 4, the opening hours at Lamby Way and Bessemer Close Recycling Centres will change.

Both sites will now be open ყოველდღy from 8.30am until 5.30pm.

The council has confirmed that the facilities will continue to operate सात days a week, closing only on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Opening times for the commercial facility at Bessemer Close will remain unchanged.

Residents are also reminded that a booking system remains in place, meaning anyone wishing to visit must reserve a slot in advance either online or via the council’s app.

How to book a recycling centre slot

To access either recycling centre, residents must book a time slot before visiting. This can be done quickly online by selecting a preferred date and time and entering vehicle details.

Bookings help to manage traffic, reduce queues and ensure a smoother experience on arrival.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, particularly during busy periods, and to bring proof of address if requested when attending their appointment.

Further details and booking access are available via the council’s recycling pages.
