A North Wales holiday park operator says its latest site has opened amid strong demand from holidaymakers choosing to vacation in the UK.

All the available lodges, caravans and touring pitches were booked out for Fishpool Holiday Park in Delamare, Cheshire, during the first couple of weeks of May.

The opening followed the acquisition of the Fishpool site by Ty Gwyn, a third-generation family business based in Abergele, North Wales, and two months of works to transform the holiday park.

The works included the introduction of a range of new lodges and caravans and groundworks including landscaping, a new entrance and road through the site. A wildflower meadow and dog walk have also been incorporated into the new-look facility.

Rhodri Owen, a director of Ty Gwyn, said: “We were delighted with the demand for bookings for our opening couple of weeks, something that is continuing into bookings for the rest of the summer.

“We know from chatting to some of our customers that they have made the decision to holiday in the UK due to all the uncertainty that has surrounded foreign travel since the outbreak of the conflict in the Middle East, along with wider cost of living concerns.

“All of the lodges, caravans and touring pitches we made available for our opening were booked out and we are now working hard to get the remainder of the site open as soon as possible.

“We had a relatively small window from completing the purchase to opening, but we have achieved a lot in a short space of time to transform the holiday park both in terms of the accommodation available and the visual appearance of the site.

“We will be undertaking further works over the coming weeks and have more new lodges and caravans arriving for guests to enjoy over the summer.

“We are keen to hear from people interested in securing seasonal touring pitches and those who may want to find out about buying their own lodge or caravan at Fishpool.”

The lodges are being provided by Victory Leisure Homes, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of holiday homes and lodges, with some of the lodges solar-powered.

Deeside-based CamGas is supplying the site with 20% BIO LPG, a sustainable, renewable fuel made from waste residues and plant materials, reducing carbon emissions by up to 90% compared to traditional fossil fuels. Holiday makers at Fishpool will also be able to access a dual charge point near the entrance to the park with two cars able to charge on each up to 22kw.

The owners have partnered with Sykes Cottages to handle bookings and Godfrey Group to provide housekeeping services.

Fishpool Holiday Park is situated close to Delamere Forest with its traffic free walking and biking trails and the Sandstone Trail. The area offers a wide selection of pubs, restaurants and farm shops.
