Runners are being invited to take part in a scenic mixed terrain challenge as the Parc Margam 10k and 5k Run returns for its fifth year.

Taking place on Sunday, 15 March 2026, the event will see participants run either a 5k or 10k route through the grounds of Margam Park in South Wales. From the Grade I listed Tudor mansion to the roaming resident deer, runners will be treated to striking scenery throughout the course. The event is kindly sponsored by Trade Centre Wales.

Margam Park has also recently been under international attention following the discovery of an ancient Roman villa on the estate, adding further interest to the historic setting.

Entry fees from the event will help raise funds and awareness for the Mayor of Neath Port Talbot’s two nominated charities. These are Type 1 derful, which supports local children with Type 1 diabetes and operates under the umbrella of Diabetes UK, and Alzheimer’s Society Cymru, which supports people affected by dementia.

Mayor of Neath Port Talbot, Councillor Wayne Carpenter, said:

“This event is a chance for our residents, as well as people from further afield, to take part in a unique run whilst enjoying beautiful scenery.

“It also raises funds for my nominated charities this year, which is wonderful. Both deliver vital services and are two very worthy causes.”

Trade Centre Group Chairman and Founder, Mark Bailey, said:

“Trade Centre Wales is delighted and proud to support the Parc Margam 10k again in 2026. As a leading local business and employer, we’re committed to playing an active role in the community.

“We look forward to meeting runners from all over south Wales on March 15th and thank them in advance for helping the Mayor’s nominated charities”.

On the day, check in will open from 9am at Margam Castle, with free parking available for participants in the main car park from 9am. Both the 5k and 10k runs will start at 10am, with the 5k covering one lap of the route and the 10k covering two.

All runners will receive a 2026 Parc Margam medal at the finish line. Participants are reminded that the route is all terrain, including woodland paths and inclines, and can become muddy in wet weather.

There is no requirement to raise additional sponsorship beyond the entry fee, although any extra support for the two charities would be appreciated. Participants must be aged 14 or over at the time of the event.
