Penarth-based software testing tool completes major ‘user-led’ redesign

Penarth-based software testing platform TestLodge has released a major new redesign after consulting with its global userbase.

The test case management tool which has users across the globe allows software testers and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to manage, organise and plan their testing efforts with ease integrating with a wide range of issue trackers to create tickets and bug reports automatically whenever a test case fails.

Launched in 2013 the cloud-based SaaS (software as a service) TestLodge has enjoyed extraordinary growth since coming out of initial development and is widely regarded as one of the top emerging software testing tools to come out of the UK.

The new release comes as the need for software testing is expected to grow rapidly over the next few years, with one report suggesting the market could grow by as much as 13.5% by 2027.

Following extensive user feedback, the new design takes into account the increasing amount of integrations and test processes the tool now offers, as well as an improved UI experience, integrated multiple issue trackers, enhanced search and filter features and, continuing the guiding philosophy of TestLodge, a clutter-free interface.

The new design has also been optimized for use on tablets and contains a number of new features and integrations.

Managing Director of TestLodge, Scott Sherwood, said the growth of the tool over the past seven years meant it warranted a redesign, and that the user-base was again key to focusing their efforts. Scott said: “Listen, invest and improve has always been the ethos at TestLodge, with consumer feedback a core facet of our business, and so it’s no surprise that when it came time to redesign and re-release TestLodge, we were again led by our users.

“Through the natural growth of our software testing tool, our users said they felt our interface was beginning to get a little cluttered, and due to the number of operations we now offer, some items were not as easy to navigate as before. We also looked at what were the current pain points or features that our users would like to see addressed or implemented, which inspired our new multiple issue tracker functionality, meaning users can integrate multiple issue trackers from a single TestLodge account.”
