Independent housebuilder Dandara has recently secured planning approval for its new Sant Silian development located in Cardiff, less than a mile from Cardiff Gate Retail Park.

The development will deliver 144 new two, three, four and five-bedroom family homes on Bridge Road, offering easy access to both a retail hotspot and the surrounding countryside.

Developed by the newly formed Wales & West division of Dandara, the planning consent for Sant Silian follows the acquisition of the 9.5 acre site in February this year. It is part of a wider redevelopment beside the Rhymney River, bringing new life to the area, that includes a local school, allotments and a park.

Martin Smith, Managing Director at Dandara Wales & West, comments: “This planning approval is a big step forward in our provision of versatile family homes to help meet the considerable demand for new housing in Cardiff.

“It’s a fantastic site in a prime location and we will be offering a range of homes for a variety of buyers, from growing families to those looking to purchase their first ever home. We’re also committed to employing locally sourced staff and sub-contractors and using Welsh materials to support the local economy.”

Situated less than a mile from Cardiff Gate Retail Park, Sant Silian has a range of different amenities within walking distance, including an Asda supermarket, various cafes and restaurants and a PureGym. The development is also close to Pentwyn Link Road, providing easy access into central Cardiff and to the M4 motorway.

The riverside location is ideal for nature lovers, with the Rhymney Trail on the doorstep which is the perfect place for a country walk. Families will also have access to great schools only a short distance away, including Busy Bees Nursery for young children and Prontprennau Primary School and Corpus Christi Catholic High School for older pupils.

Sant Silian is scheduled to launch off-plan at the start of next year.
