A facility at Roath Park Lake in Cardiff has been closed until further notice following the detection of blue-green algae in the water.

Cardiff Council confirmed that the Boat Stage, located on Lake Road East, is currently unavailable to the public.

Natural Resources Wales has carried out tests on the lake water, with the results now being awaited.

The facility will remain closed until officials are satisfied that it is safe to reopen.

Cardiff Council said it would provide a further update when more information becomes available.
