The company was announced as the winner of the Lighting Energy Impact Award for its landmark energy transformation at Cardiff Airport.

The results of the Energy Awards 2018 were revealed at Hilton Park Lane in London, where the energy industry elite came together for a night of recognition and celebration of the sector’s achievements. An expert judging panel from across the industry unanimously chose Salisbury Group as its winner following a rigorous selection process.

Cardiff Airport is one of the fastest growing airports in the UK. As the key national transport hub for Wales, it serves 18 airlines flying to over 50 direct destinations and over 900 connecting destinations. Almost 1.5 million passengers travel through the airport every year.

The energy transformation project at Cardiff Airport will reduce lighting bills by over 50% and save around £1.7 million to 2030. It will also reduce the airport’s environmental impact through a 224,000kg CO2 annual carbon abatement.

Ed Swales, CEO, Salisbury Group said:

“This award recognises our success in designing and delivering critical energy projects. Our innovative approach is already providing financial savings and reductions in carbon emissions at the airport and we are pleased that the industry has recognised our achievements. We are proud to have supported our client’s clear vision to be an outstanding capital city airport and we look forward to delivering further energy transformations for other leading clients.”
