Motorists across South Wales are facing a slower start to the week, with multiple routes impacted during the Monday morning rush hour.

According to Traffic Wales, drivers are being urged to allow extra time for their journeys as congestion builds on key commuter roads.

The A4232 is seeing delays southbound between Culverhouse Cross and the M4 at Junction 33 (Capel Llanilltern), a well-used route for traffic heading towards Cardiff.

Meanwhile, the A470 is also affected, with slow-moving traffic reported southbound between Upper Boat and Coryton, adding pressure to one of the main routes into the capital.

On the M4, eastbound traffic is experiencing delays between Junction 28 (Tredegar Park) and Junction 23 (Rogiet), with knock-on impacts expected across connecting roads.

There are also reports of disruption on the eastbound off-slip at Junction 33 (Capel Llanilltern), which could further impact drivers joining local routes.

Commuters are advised to plan ahead, consider alternative routes where possible, and allow additional time as traffic builds throughout the morning.
