From Victorian charm to sparkling lights, artisan markets and ice sculptures, there’ll be more festive fun than ever before for residents and visitors in Swansea city centre this Christmas.
The season begins with a new addition, the Swansea Victorian Christmas Fayre, and it’s running from Thursday November 20 to Sunday November 23.
Taking over Oxford Street, Princess Way and Portland Street, this traditional-style event will bring the magic of a bygone era to the heart of the city. Visitors can expect around 50 artisan stalls, Victorian-costumed traders, street food, roaming entertainment and live performances throughout the weekend.
The event is being delivered by Swansea Council in partnership with LSD Promotions.
Cllr David Hopkins, Swansea Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Delivery, said: “Swansea city centre will be the place to be this Christmas, with more festive fun than ever before.
“We’re proud to bring back much-loved favourites, alongside exciting additions such as the Victorian Christmas Fayre and several other new events for 2025.
“These events not only bring joy to residents and visitors, but they also support local traders and showcase our city centre as a fantastic destination all year round.”
The celebrations continue with the return of the Swansea Christmas Market from Saturday November 29 to Monday December 22, offering a cosy mix of festive food, drink and gifts on Oxford Street, featuring the festive Alpine bar and a programme of entertainment at the Caroler’s Cabin. This year the market will also have a new attraction on key weekends – The Merry Marquee.
Early December brings the spectacular Fire and Ice Festival on Saturday December 6 and Sunday December 7, where visitors can discover a trail of stunning ice sculptures around the city centre, get hands-on with an interactive ice carving wall, capture magical moments inside the snow globe photo point, and experience dynamic chainsaw ice carving shows featuring explosive pyrotechnics.
There’ll also be live music at the Caroler’s Cabin, which is sponsored by Costa Coffee.
The festivities then continue with Mistletoe and Markets on Saturday December 13 and Sunday December 14 – a weekend packed with live music, walkabout acts, and family entertainment at both Swansea Christmas Market and Swansea Market.
Festive favourites are also back for 2025, including the return of Swansea Waterfront Winterland at Museum Park from Friday November 21, offering ice skating, festive rides and food for all ages.
And on Sunday November 23, the streets of Swansea will come alive for the Christmas Parade 2025, featuring floats, bands, choirs, dancers, superheroes and light-up characters, capped off by Santa switching on the city’s Christmas lights.
Taking place from 5pm, the new parade route this year will begin at the Guildhall where Santa will illuminate the building with a festive red glow, followed by a fireworks display to mark the start of the parade.
The parade will then travel down St Helen’s Road, the Kingsway, College Street, Castle Street and Caer Street before finishing on Princess Way.
