After winning Taylor Wimpey South Wales’ bedroom design competition, The Bishop of Llandaff Church in Wales High School student, Darcey’s vision has been brought to life in the newly launched Dale show home at the Parc Llandaf development.

The Year 7 student was announced as the winner earlier this year, after entering the competition which invited students at Bishop of Llandaff Church in Wales High School  to submit their ultimate bedroom concepts. As part of her prize, Darcey’s winning design has been recreated in one of the bedrooms in the new show home at the Taylor Wimpey development in Cardiff.

The competition’s aim was to get local students thinking in a fun and creative way, inspiring them to explore interior design and express their personal style. Entries were judged based on originality, practicality, and creativity.

Mrs Rees, Head of Lower School at The Bishop of Llandaff High School, said: “We have been so proud of Darcey for winning this competition. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their creativity and think about real-world design applications. We are amazed to see that her design has been brought to life by the Taylor Wimpey team.”

Kellie Risdale, Sales Manager at Taylor Wimpey South Wales, said: “At Taylor Wimpey, we really love to get involved with the local community, and this competition really got young minds thinking creatively and helped them feel a part of the community here. Darcey’s bedroom concept stood out for its creativity and practicality, and we’re so happy to see it brought to life in our Parc Llandaf show home.”
