    Summertime vibes as Will Smith brings unforgettable show to Cardiff

    Global superstar Will Smith delivered a sensational show to bring the curtain down on an unforgettable summer season at TK Maxx presents Depot Live at Cardiff Castle.

    The GRAMMY Award and Oscar winner brought his “Based on a True Story” European Tour to the historic venue.

    The show – which charts Will’s life from his days as chart-topping rapper the Fresh Prince, through his acclaimed movie career – delighted fans new and old.

    He played a hit-laden set which included such classics as Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It, Miami, Summertime, Wild Wild West, Bulletproof and Men In Blackfor which he was backed by 30 students from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama  – all dressed as the inter-stellar secret agents from Will’s hit Sci-fi movie.

    Addressing the crowd, Smith said: “Cardiff this is beautiful, this is my first time ever performing here. Thank you so much, this has been quite a beautiful time.

    “I’ve dedicated my life to entertaining you. I love that families come together. It has been my career mission and my life’s mission to bring joy and happiness into this world, so thank you for being here.

    Opening the show were BBC Radio One’s Melvin Odoom and Rickie Haywood-Williams before very special guest Nile Rodgers brought the ultimate party atmosphere to Cardiff Castle performing hit after hit with CHIC.
