NatWest has teamed-up with ASTUTE 2020, Industry Wales and Swansea University to run a free event for companies in the manufacturing sector focusing on future manufacturing technologies and the opportunities that come with them.

Advancements such as disruptive technologies have been identified globally as a priority area for nations that wish their manufacturing sector to remain relevant with major economic wealth creating activities.

The event, which will take place at the College of Engineering at Swansea University’s Bay Campus on February 7, will look at this and the opportunities available to Welsh manufacturers as the sector evolves at an increasing pace.

It will allow manufacturing companies to engage with highly qualified technical experts and business advisors to understand what support and development opportunities are available for adding value to a business and helping them grow. In particular, it will look at what steps are being taken to support the sector in adapting to change.

[/aoa]With around 50,000 manufacturing customers in the UK, NatWest is one of the industry’s main supporting banks. Its Head of Automotive and Manufacturing, Richard Hill, will be one of the guest speakers at the event.

Natasha Hopkins, NatWest Senior Relationship Manager, said:

“The Welsh manufacturing sector is a key driver for the Welsh economy, supporting thousands of jobs and businesses across the supply chain.

“Globally it is one of the fastest evolving sectors as new advancements in technologies such as automation present new challenges and opportunities. It is therefore important manufacturing companies in Wales react to this change so their businesses can continue being at the forefront. This event will give them the tools and understanding they need to do so.”
