The HR Dept marks key growth with team appointment

South-Wales based HR business, the HR Dept Cardiff, Newport and Monmouth has marked the start of 2020 with a key team appointment thanks to its ongoing business growth.

Having previously held an HR position at Catrefi Cymru, Pan Tzaferi has joined the HR Dept as an HR advisor, liaising with clients on day-to-day operations across start-up, SME and high-growth businesses, supporting the HR Dept as it continues to grow and expand its reach across Wales.

This comes as the HR Dept commemorates continued business success, having recently been shortlisted for several awards including the Wales HR Awards, Business Growth Awards and the Cardiff Life Awards. In 2019, it also celebrated significant business expansion thanks to its acquisition of the Newport and Monmouth regions, seeing its revenue increase by 31% with over 170 clients now on board, with further expansion plans already in place for the next quarter.

Speaking of her new role, Pan said: “I’m thrilled to be a part of the HR Dept, joining a team that is truly passionate about HR and all that it does for its’ clients. During my time in the HR sector, I’ve supported clients from an in-house perspective at varying stages of growth so it’ll be very interesting to support clients across a mix of sectors, something that really appealed to me when I was initially applying for the role. I’m excited about this new challenge alongside Caryl and the team, and I look forward to seeing what the next 12 months bring.”

In the past five years, the HR Dept Cardiff, Newport and Monmouth has transformed into a six-figure business, working with clients across a wide variety of sectors including creative, digital and manufacturing.

Speaking of the appointment, Caryl Thomas director of the HR Dept Cardiff, Newport and Monmouth said: “Culture is so important to our business, so it was critical that we brought a member of staff on board who shared our ethos for putting people first, ultimately putting the human back into HR and I think Pan is a fantastic fit as she understands what we’re looking to achieve.

“The last 12 months have been an incredibly exciting time for the HR Dept as a business, from our acquisition of two new regions to now the appointment of our newest team member, Pan, who I believe will be essential addition as we continue to drive the business forward. We have big plans for our future, and I think Pan’s appointment is a key step towards making that a reality.”
