    UK employment screening provider expands

    Checks Direct is breaking into new areas of the UK screening market in 2022 with the introduction of its new Employment Referencing and Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) checking services.

    As an umbrella body of the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Checks Direct works with public, private and not-for-profit clients from a range of industries, who will now benefit from additional safeguarding solutions.

    Employment Referencing Checks confirm an applicant’s employment history and current employment status, and employers can choose to cover a period of one year, three years, or five years.

    DVLA Checks confirm a person’s driving background, including their driving licence validity and expiration date, the type(s) of vehicle they’re permitted to drive, penalty points, disqualifications and more. They help make sure a recruit meets industry-specific standards and are suitable for any organisation that hires employees and third parties to drive, have access to company vehicles, or who use their own vehicles for work-related activities.

     Over a million people are employed in large goods, van, bus, taxi and many other professional driving roles within the UK.*

    Checks Direct provides comprehensive criminal record and other vetting checks through a bespoke online system that makes employment screening as accessible, straightforward, and as time effective as possible.

    As a business, it also ensures employers meet industry legislation and the ethical obligations of stakeholders with an extensive suite of services. This includes Basic, Standard and Enhanced DBS Checks in addition to ID, Right to Work, Teacher Status and Employment Credit checks, and more.

    Previously known as OnlineDBS, Checks Direct has more than 20 years’ experience in employment screening. It has a growing base of 5,000 clients and processes more than 50,000 DBS and vetting checks per year across a diverse client portfolio ranging from small businesses to multinational corporations, and spanning local, national and international organisations.
