Veezu launches new food delivery service

Veezu Delivers, an app which partners with local restaurants, takeaways and convenience stores for the speedy delivery of food and goods, has launched in Bristol.

The new service is provided by Newport-based Veezu, and delivered by the driver partners of V Cars, the South West’s biggest private hire taxi firm.

Veezu Delivers is throwing a lifeline to local restaurants, pubs and convenience stores in reaction to booming demand for delivered goods coupled with the lengthy waiting time for supermarket delivery services.

    Nathan Bowles, CEO at Veezu.

Nathan Bowles, CEO at V Cars’ parent company, Veezu, said: “We’re adapting our service to meet the needs of our local communities. We are a hyper-local transportation company with the technology and infrastructure to help local businesses get food and goods to people who are social distancing and self-isolating, as well as the elderly and vulnerable people.

“It’s well documented that supermarkets have been overwhelmed by demand for their home delivery services. We’re able to help residents get supplies delivered faster.”

V Cars is the South West’s biggest private hire taxi company, with more than 1,100 driver-partners operating throughout Bristol, Bath, Chippenham and Swindon – meaning it has unrivalled local coverage.

Its fleet can deliver faster than local supermarkets and further than most other food delivery services. Drivers partnering with V Cars are trained to carry out doorstep deliveries that meet social distancing rules. Customers can place their order with local takeaways or convenience stores and V Cars’ driver-partners will collect on their behalf.

Veezu Delivers already has a number of local restaurants, takeaways and stores signed up and ‘live’ on the app and website, including fried chicken-favourite Miss Millie’s, Argentinian tapas restaurant Otira & Chandos Social, Sprinkles Gelato, Taka Taka, Iron Grill Burger, Pizza Bella and ABOE by Sebastian Merry at Cloak and Dagger, with many more in the pipeline.

Nathan added: “We’re seeing demand from consumers for goods from convenience shops, hardware stores and vape stores as well as restaurants and takeaway outlets. We’re currently in talks with more than 200 outlets about joining the Veezu Delivers platform.”

The Veezu Delivers mobile app is available for both iOS and Android, with orders also being placed via the website at veezudelivers.co.uk.
