Visitors to this year’s National Eisteddfod will have the chance to experience the very best of Welsh food and drink through a series of daily live cooking demonstrations celebrating the flavours of the Bluestone Region.

The ‘Taste of the Region’ demonstrations will take place every afternoon in Pabell Pawb at Pentre’r Garreg Las, where talented local chefs and food experts will showcase local produce, recipes and the region’s rich culinary heritage.

The programme features two live demonstrations each afternoon, led by a line-up of chefs and food specialists, many of whom are well known to viewers of S4C’s Prynhawn Da.

Visitors can expect inspiring recipes, the opportunity to discover local ingredients and hear the stories behind the food that makes the region unique.

    The chef line-up includes:

    • Nerys Howell
    • Osian Jones (Crwst)
    • Gareth Richards
    • Lloyd Henry
    • Michelle Evans-Fecci
    • Lisa Fearn
    • Deian Creunant (Gwin a Mwy)
    • Craig Evans (Coastal Foraging Wales)
    • Carwyn Graves, who will present a special session exploring the heritage of Welsh food.

The demonstrations have been made possible through the Welsh Government Food and Drink Events and Festivals Small Grants Scheme.

Organisers have also thanked Nerys Howell for her support in helping secure the funding and for working alongside the team to bring the programme together.

Further thanks have been extended to Meat Promotion Wales, Food & Drink Wales and the many local food and drink businesses whose support has helped make the demonstrations possible.

The sessions are open to anyone with an interest in Welsh food, whether they are passionate food lovers, keen home cooks or visitors looking to discover more about the region’s culinary traditions.
